This book is addressed to those interested in literature and issues of literary criticism, and to students and scholars of modern critical doctrines. In this field, it raises one of the most important and complex issues: the issue of procedure in analyzing literary texts.
In the twentieth century, critical inquiry methods have witnessed an unparalleled development, along with the contributions of the human sciences and linguistics. The methods of criticism - social, psychological, compositional, thematic, and textual - have opened many areas for literary commentators that are characterized by clarity and fertility, thus enriching the ancient tradition of criticizing sources.
This book provides a clear and documented presentation of these new trends, examining their origins, formation, rulings, applied fields, and potential limits. This book devotes a separate chapter to each of these approaches undertaken by one of the specialists.
Thus, the reader can follow these current approaches to the literary text and be guided to what is in them. This book is considered a valuable help in an era in which it is no longer possible to separate literature from the discourse it deals with. By showing how critical approaches use and redistribute all of our knowledge, it allows us to understand and analyze literary texts in a practical way.
This book is a picture of the efforts exerted by the five authors, as each chapter is devoted to an author other than the first, so this book is like a bouquet of flowers for the sake of literary criticism. It was translated to Arabic language by Dr. Ridwan Zaza, reviewed by Dr. Monsif Shanoufy .
