Some issues of the religious reformist thought of Sheikh Muhammad Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi & its role in raising & educating youth

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on some of the efforts of the Algerian scholar Sheikh Muhammad Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi during the period of the French occupation in Algeria, who tried to obliterate the national identity, seeking to destroy its components by spreading ignorance, illiteracy and others.

  It became imperative for our senior sheikhs, members of the Association of Muslim Scholars, to confront the destructive colonial trend and to cultivate ways of reform and awareness within Arab society in general and Algerian society in particular. What are the blessed efforts made by Sheikh Al-Ibrahimi through the issues he tried to address and the extent of their impact on reforming the attitudes and mentalities of the youth during that period? In this research paper, we will try to raise some of the intellectual issues of the scholar Sheikh Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi.
