Abstract

Arabic is one of the oldest and fastest growing languages in the world. It holds great importance for Muslims as it is the language of the Quran and of their Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Muslims believe it is incumbent on them to learn the Arabic language in order to understand and practice their faith. However, the importance of teaching and learning Arabic is not just limited to Muslims but it has become a need for various other cultural, educational, and commercial reasons. Teaching and learning a new language always carry some difficulties and Arabic is no different in that regard. Difficulties in learning a language are caused by various factors such as: the learner's native language, his age, the environment, and so on.
