Islam is not only a complete code of life, but also provides a complete guidance material for the newly emerging problems of today’s life. Islam has not only allowed the jurists of the Ummah to carry out reliability, speculation and ijtihad after the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the consensus of the Companions, keeping in mind the same principles and skills, but has also declared it a recommended practice from the point of view of Shari’ah necessity.
The meaning of Ijtihad is to exert one's utmost effort and energy to obtain the dominant opinion about something from the rules of the Shari'ah to the extent that no further consideration is possible. So Ijtihad is: The effort of a mujtahid to search for Shari’ah rulings by deriving the rulings of the Shari’ah is called ijtihad.
The purpose of the said effort is to guide the way towards the solution of the problems encountered in the modern era in the light of Ijtihad and its reality and necessity under the shadow of Ijtihad principles and rules of aimam Arbaa (four imams).
