Abstract

The purpose of this research is to higlight the status of the Barmakah and their contributions to the Arabic Language and the dissemination of its Literature in the Abbasid era, especially the ruling ship caliphate Harun Al-Rashid, the Barmaki, especially Yahya al-Baramki, Minister of Harun al-Rashid, played a prominent role in serving the Arabic Language, by establishing Translation institutes & Libraries, and holding debates and courses for translation, from the Greek, Hindu, Persian and Latin Languages into classical Arabic. Yahya Al-Barmaki the Minister guided Harun Al-Rashid towards the spread Knowledge & Science. He established the House of Wisdom (Bait Ul Hikma) in Baghdad, it was a public library of books, in which a large number of translators work, and many more things as gifts to scholars, writers and poets, and historical and literary sources indicated the generosity of the Baramka in order to serve the Arabic Language and scholars.
